Kiko Loureiro takes part today in the show of the launching of the CD "Moda de Rock- Viola Extrema", the project of Ricardo Vignini and Zé Helder. Kiko Loureiro : new blog post Guitar Player

Kiko Loureiro has recently posted on his Official Blog a new post regarding his participation as juror in "Best In Shred" contest in California (USA, 12/01/11), alongside Andy Timmons, Herman Lee (DragonForce), John 5 (Marilyn Manson), George Lynch (Lynch Mob) and Frank Bello (Anthrax). The performences of the six finalists were based on a song from Steve Vai.

Kiko Loureiro explains the difficulty he and other members of the jury had to choose a winner among the six finalists who have all played the song from Steve Vai to perfection. It expressed its disappointment at not seeing one of the finalists improvise based on the composition of Vai. "Technique is a part of the way and not the message itself".

Kiko Loureiro : show Bateras 100% Brasil in São Paulo

Bateras 100% Brasil is the name given to the Brazilian project that brings together professional and amateur drummers of all ages and various musical styles in a unique performance.

The project, considered as the largest percussion orchestra in Latin America celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2010 and brings to each performance between 10 000 and 50 000 people.

Great names of Brazilian drums have already participated in this project : Ricardo Confessori (Angra, Shaman) Igor Cavalera (ex-Sepultura, Cavalera Conspiracy), Guto Goffi (Barão Vermelho), Amílcar Christofaro (Torture Squad), Fernando Schaefer (Endrah, Treta, Kiko Loureiro), Bacalhau (Ultrage a Rigor), Cuca Teixeira, among others.

Kiko Loureiro (Angra, Neural Code) takes part today in the show 100% Virada Cultural bateras 2011 at Vale do Anhangaba in São Paulo (Brazil) from 5:00 pm (Brazilian time) !

Kiko Loureiro : new blog post Guitar Player

Kiko Loureiro has recently published a new blog post regarding his tour in Italia in support of his latest studio album "Fullblast". This tour was held in past November 2010, in the Italian cities of Caserta, Roma, Pisa, Scandino, Torino, Udine, Schio and Legnano. Kiko Loureiro's band, with Felipe Andreoli (bass) , Marcell Cardoso (drums) and Maria Ilmoniemi (keyboards) made 8 concerts in 8 days !

Kiko Loureiro : "The only way to improve ourselves is the constant musical experience. We are beings who learn by repetition. Studies for hours daily and incessant trials are more than necessary, but the reality of stage or studio is infinitely cruel, therefore many ignore the devotion of this solitary training. For a full evolution, the experiences of recordings and concerts also need to be experienced so assiduously. If you want to have a good performance, you must be on stage ; if you want to record well, you have to record. Always. [...]

Although they may seem tedious, these tours are the best memories in the career of a musician. They are intense days in which the enhancement appears with great force. The contact with the fans, new places and different cultures make us dependent on life on the road."
